E-commerce agency for SMEs: online shops built and managed
Opening an online shop is the short part. The long part is keeping it up to date: products to add, product pages to fix, orders to fulfil, returns, prices, promotions. It's the work that gets done last in the business, when there's time.
For SMEs in Ticino and the rest of Switzerland, we do both from our office in Lugano: we build the shop and then look after it every day.
What we handle
Building the shop
Platform, catalogue structure and checkout journey, easy to use on a phone.
Shop redesign
A new design and a simpler checkout for a shop you already have, without changing platform or losing products and orders.
Product catalogue
Adding products, images, product pages and ongoing updates.
Orders and customer service
Checking orders, replying to customers, handling returns.
Integrations
Connecting to your business software, payment systems, couriers and CRM.
Shipping
Preparation, rates and dealings with the courier, if you hand it over to us.
Reports
What sells, what sits still and where orders are being lost.
Which platform
We choose the platform after seeing what you sell, how many products you have, who will look after the shop day to day and how much you want to invest at the start.
- WordPress with WooCommerce – for those who already have a WordPress website or a modest catalogue, and want to manage products and pages from the same panel.
- PrestaShop – built purely for selling online: it handles large catalogues, variants, price lists and multiple languages.
On a tight budget they're the right choice: you can launch in a few weeks with low upfront costs. The trade-off is that every extra feature comes from a third-party theme or plugin, often with a licence to renew every year and keep updated.
When a custom shop pays off
If you can invest a bit more, a custom e-commerce site changes a lot, especially in design and speed. We program the catalogue, cart, orders and management panel from scratch, without a CMS. It takes more development time, which pays you back after launch:
Free design
No theme to adapt: every page is designed around your products and your brand.
Speed
The browser only loads the code it needs, so pages open instantly, even on a phone. Speed is also one of the signals Google looks at.
No subscriptions or plugins to renew
The features are written for your shop and belong to you: no annual licences for filters, shipping, invoices or languages, no commission to the platform.
Updates without surprises
There's no plugin that stops working after an update: only what we decide to change, changes.
A panel built around your work
Orders, stock, promotions and the link to your business software follow the way you work, not the way a plugin expects.
A smaller attack surface
Less third-party code means fewer weak points for the automated attacks that target the most popular CMSs.
One example is BingoNerd, the online gaming platform with collectible prizes that we developed from scratch, with live events and built-in payments: the server delivers the home page in around two tenths of a second.
The full comparison of platforms is in the article Shopify, WooCommerce, PrestaShop or custom: which to choose (in Italian).
How we work
Starting point
What you sell, who to, and what already exists online.
Plan
Platform, catalogue structure and the connections to build in.
Build and launch
Development, testing and going live.
Day-to-day management
Catalogue, orders and promotions looked after over time.
Who it's for
For anyone who sells online without someone in the business who can look after it every day, or who has a shop that nobody looks after any more.
- companies that want to open an online shop and don't know where to start
- established shops where the catalogue and orders have fallen behind
- anyone who wants to connect the shop to their business software instead of typing data in twice
Costs
The build is quoted per project; management has a monthly fee that depends on how many products and orders go through. You can hand us just the build, just the management, or both.
With the volumes on the table, the numbers can be worked out precisely, and it's also when the costs nobody looks at any more come to light, starting with shipping.
Frequently asked questions
Do you just build the shop, or manage it too?
Both, separately or together. Many projects start as a build and carry on as ongoing management.
Can you connect the shop to my business software?
We integrate payment systems, shipping, CRM and ERP software.
Do you stay on after launch?
Yes: updates, technical maintenance and catalogue management are part of the ongoing service.
Can I have just the shop's design redone?
Yes. We redo the design, product pages, cart and checkout on the platform you already use, without touching the catalogue or orders. To see where to start, you can ask for the free design and UX analysis.
Can I manage the shop myself?
Yes. WooCommerce and PrestaShop have a panel for products, orders and promotions, and a custom shop has its own too, built around the way you work. We show you how to use it before launch.
I already have an online shop: can you take it over?
Yes. We can look after it as it is, or move it to another platform if that makes sense: products and customers are transferred, and the old addresses are redirected so you don't lose your Google rankings.
Can the shop grow over time?
The platforms we use can handle a growing catalogue and more orders without being rebuilt from scratch.
Can I start small and expand later?
Often you start with a single task, such as the catalogue, and add the rest when it's needed.
