It is not surprising that the videos are so popular: they create confidence and transmit emotions like no other means. They receive ten times more reactions on social media than other formats and also loves them. In other words, videos are excellent for making your business even more popular! So if you're not yet producing videos, the time has come to do it. Don't worry, you don't have to dig deep into your pockets and you don't even have to hire professionals. All you need is some time, the camera of your smartphone and, of course, interesting ideas. Let's explain everything else here.
1 Video-Strategies
As with all projects: nothing works without good planning. It is better to work with your team and think first what you want to get with the video. This can be, for example:
- Present the company
- Explains a complicated product or service
- Answer the most common questions of customers
- highlight employees
- Take a look behind the scenes of the company
So think about how you want to fascinate the public. With impressive images? Funny or unique content? IMPORTANT: the video must arouse emotions. Do you always think about your target group: is the video for existing or potential customers? What previous knowledge already does it have? What are you interested in?
2 screenplay and storyboard
In the Script Strutturi the contents of the video. So create a storyboard in which you simply sketch the individual scenes. Keep it as short as possible: the most successful videos that last a maximum of 30 seconds. So leaves out everything that is not absolutely necessary. You can find a lot of inspiration on Tiktok or the Instagram rollers and you can also look beyond the shoulders of the competition.
Make sure to pay attention to the disposal of people and films objects, e.g. the composition of the image. Send yourself to the golden ratio: mentally divide the image into a grid of 3 per 3 parts. The person or filmed object is located on external crossings.
3 equipment and lighting
Today's smartphone cameras are absolutely enough for your company video. If someone is speaking in the clip, it is also worth getting a USB microphone with windshield. These are available at a relatively low price from specialized retailers. A tripod is also cheap and guarantees stable images.
The essential for a good video is the right lighting, ideally the light of the day. Outside, the light is about an hour better after the dawn or an hour before sunset. Do not film around noon, because the high sun creates unpleasant shadows on the faces. There are excellent lighting conditions even with cloudy time. If you are filming in interior, get sources of light, like an annular light, to adequately illuminate the faces.
4 Video shooting
Exercise first with the process several times. During actual filming, it is better to film short sequences and mount them together later. If an error occurs, these are repeated faster than a complete video. Make sure there are no disordered desks, clutter shelves, garbage bins or the like in the background. Depending on the type of video, you can also film in front of a white background. Make sure that the person portrayed does not have shiny skin and that his clothes are clean and without wrinkles.
Tip: alternatively, you can also create a presentation from the photos.
5 post production
Now cut the individual sequences together and add your logo and your music. Make sure you have the rights on the songs and that the music is not too high. If you work with characters or other objects, pay attention to a harmonious color palette, preferably within your corporate design. Since even social media videos are played without audio, we recommend using subtitles. Even people with hearing problems are grateful for this.
There are numerous economic or even free tools that you can use for cutting. If you have a Mac, you can use imovie for free, while Movie Maker is the equivalent for Windows. Both are relatively easy to use. Platforms such as Lumen5 or Canva are also highly recommended. They have a huge archive of videos, images and music, most of which you can use for free. They also provide practical models. Your video ended in a moment.
Tip: Show the finished video to a friend or family member before publishing it to get a second opinion.
